JoCoPlantShow Updated Schedule
The Johnston County Nursery Marketing Association will hold the new and improved JoCoPlantShow (formerly “Plant Fax Live”) on July 14th, 2010 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the N.C. State Fairground’s Kerr Scott Building in Raleigh, NC. This year’s show is upgraded from years’ past shows with educational sessions including pesticide and irrigation continuing education credits and a Plant Showcase with host Bryce Lane from “In the Garden with Bryce Lane”. You can still browse high quality plants from all 24 of JoCoPlants experienced growers and browse products ranging from pesticides to mulch to farm equipment. The show’s schedule is as follow:8:00 – 9:00 am: Registration for show and educational sessions opens
9:00 am: Show floor opens for browsing
9:00 – 10:00 am: Pesticide CEU – 1 hr. (free)
10:00 – 11:00 am: Irrigation CEU Part I - 1 hr. ($10 reg. fee)
11:00 – 12:00 pm: Break for lunch
1:00 – 2:00 pm: Pesticide CEU – 1 hr. (free)
2:00 – 3:00 pm: Irrigation CEU, Part II - 1 hr. ($10 reg. fee)
We are very excited to be partnering with the Carolinas Irrigation Association to bring you these very important Irrigation Continuing Education Units. The course titled “Understanding Drip Irrigation” given by Netafim USA consultant, Keith Coulsting, consists of two parts for 1 hour of credit each (totalling 2 possible hours). During Part I, held from 10:00 – 11:00 am, attendees will dispell Drip Myths, learn reasons why to use drip, how easy drip install really is, compare traditional and drip irrigation, and learn about other components essential to drip irrigation. During Part II, held from 2:00 – 3:00 pm, attendees will learn how to conduct a site survey for drip irrigation, how to layout drip irrigation for optimal water usage, and compare costs between traditional and drip irrigation. Materials given out during the classes are: Netafim catalog, design guide, quick layout design sheet, a drip product sample bag, and a CD containing design calculator, cut sheets, specs, and more.
